If you have thumbed your nose at Twitter you may want to re-think that. Yeah, it is yet another social network. And, yeah, is sometimes seems sophomoric. But I find that contributors write generally frank and sometimes, revealing notes. Perhaps it is because of the 140 character limitation to notes that make the posts so revealing. Posters must say things to the point, no pussy-foot’n around. I have signed up to follow mostly traders who I like. But today I signed up to follow John Boehner. Yeah, that Boehner. How he has time to post I don’t know. It is probably his staff. Nevertheless, his posts have been pretty interesting so far.

For example, Doug Kass (see my Sidebar from yesterday) a couple of minutes ago said he was adding to short positions since the S&P had tried and failed to penetrate 825. He currently feels today’s market will decline, at least for now. His note is likely to have a short-term impact on the market.
