• Asia is up on the back of rousing US rally and of the Japanese government’s proposal to buy shares with public funds.  An unprecedented idea that could still come unwound this audacious plan could have legs.  One wonders, however, what will happen when the government has no more funds for purchases.
• I imagine our markets will be up, at least during the first hour.  Should there be follow through we could have a stem winder of a day.
• The President’s speech had sparks of wisdom but also seemed to be like most others.  The beginning was better than the finish.  The man’s energy is amazing, I must say.
