Morning Look

  • Gold and oil off in morning futures trading.
  • Alcoa, traditionally the first major company to report quarterly earnings, announces after the close.  This could set the tone for this earnings season.
  • Palm is up, again, in pre-market so I my have to pay up.  Hate that.
  • Lest you think everyone is bailing from market there are plenty of examples of real buying.  Dry Ships (DRYS) is higher by 70% since the first of year, for example.  And, is indicated higher this morning.
  • Bush to have 9:15 press conference.
