It is options expiration day, no trading for me. The volatility is too difficult to judge.
Don’t-let the-door-hit-you-on-your-way-out: saying goodbye to Bush is a catharsis. Knowing he and Cheney are within days of departing the Capitol almost makes me giddy. Bush continues to be lauded in gushing farwell editorials in the WSJ, IBD and other conservative periodicals. The crux of their praise seems to be 1) the surge and 2) that we haven’t been attacked since 9/11. Of course, the surge would not have been necessary if we had not tried to push democracy on countries unwilling to accept it. And lets not forget 10’s of thousands of Iraqi lives, 5 thousand Amricans killed, 30,000 maimed and a trillion dollars spent. And while I am thankful that we have not been attacked again I wonder why no one gives our boy any blame for letting it happen.
The thing I dislike most about liberals is they think they are smarter than anyone else. But when I hear Bush, in his final press conference, say that the only people who think he made mistakes were “the elites” it almost makes me puke. If “elites” are then smarter then I vote for elites. I want people smarter than me running this country.
